Lake Weir hasn't had much luck against Forest recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Lake Weir Hurricanes are taking a road trip to challenge the Forest Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. Forest took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Lake Weir, who comes in off a win.
On Tuesday, Lake Weir got the win against West Port by a conclusive 9-3. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Hurricanes.

Chapter Jones was a major factor no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over 5.1 innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March of 2024. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. He has become a key player for Lake Weir: the team is undefeated when he posts at least three hits, but 2-8 otherwise.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Skyler Courtney, who scored three runs and stole Two bases. while going 1-for-3. Lake Weir is undefeated when Courtney posts two or more runs, but 2-8 otherwise. Travis Kiger also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.
Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Forest took on Buchholz on Tuesday. Forest came up short against Buchholz, falling 13-6. The Wildcats haven't had much luck with the Bobcats recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.
Forest also got a good showing from Jason Rodriguez, who tossed two innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. The dominant performance also gave Rodriguez a new career-low in walks (zero).
On the hitting side, Dillon Grace made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-3.
Lake Weir picked up their first home win, bumping their record up to 5-8. As for Forest, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-7.
Lake Weir might still be hurting after the 8-2 loss they got from Forest in their previous meeting last Tuesday. Can Lake Weir avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
