Soroco is 8-2 against De Beque since January of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Soroco Rams' road trip will continue as they head out to face the De Beque Dragons at 5:00 p.m. on January 19th. Hopefully Soroco focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 35 last Saturday.
Soroco struggled with offensive rebounds last Saturday (Rangely had 19 more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Soroco was outmatched by Rangely on the road and fell 58-24. While losing is never fun, Soroco can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 277th, while Rangely is ranked 55th).
Despite the loss, Soroco had strong showings from Rachelle Dudley, who scored eight points along with ten rebounds, and Alyvia Cox, who scored no points. Dudley hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for three straight games.
Meanwhile, De Beque was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Friday as they fell 41-36 to West Grand. De Beque has not had much luck with West Grand recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Soroco's record is now 1-6. De Beque's record is now 6-4.
Soroco didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against De Beque when the teams last played back in January of 2023, but they still walked away with a 39-35 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Soroco since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
