Alisal is 7-0 against Gilroy since January of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Alisal Trojans will head out on the road to face off against the Gilroy Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. Hopefully Alisal focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 on Friday.
Alisal unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak. They fell to Pioneer 55-49.
Alisal's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Gregory Cabrera, who scored 19 points along with 8 rebounds, and Adrian Cardenas who scored 14 points along with 7 rebounds and 5 assists. The contest was Cardenas' fourth in a row with at least ten points.
Meanwhile, Gilroy came up short against Palma on Thursday and fell 49-36. Gilroy has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Their wins bumped Alisal to 3-1 and Pioneer to 3-0.
Everything went Alisal's way against Gilroy when the teams last played back in December of 2022 as Alisal made off with a 71-45 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Alisal since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
