Basketball Recap: Shiloh Comes Up Short

Shiloh's game on Friday was all tied up 24-24 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They received a blow as they fell 59-44 to the Woodward Academy War Eagles. While losing is never fun, the Generals can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 276th, while the War Eagles are ranked fifth).

Despite the loss, Shiloh still got an impressive performance from Zylan Harris, who went 6 of 9 en route to 19 points. Those 19 points gave Harris a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Nicholas Johnson, who posted seven points and six boards.

Woodward Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Deke Cooper, who almost dropped a double-double on 19 points and nine rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Zachary Foster, who went 9 for 15 on his way to 22 points and seven boards.

Shiloh dropped their record down to 6-14 with the loss, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Woodward Academy, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 16-3.

Shiloh didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 64-52 defeat against Tri-Cities on the 25th. Woodward Academy has also already played their next contest, a 66-47 win against Lakeside on the 25th.
