Softball Recap: Shadow Ridge Wins Going Away Against Valley Vista

Shadow Ridge never got on the board in their matchup last Tuesday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Valley Vista on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 20-1 margin over the Monsoon. The Stallions might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven contests by six runs or more this season.

The team relied heavily on Madilyn Gentner, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI. Those four stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Destiny Johnston also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

Shadow Ridge was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .680. They are 11-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Shadow Ridge has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 13-9-1 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.8 runs over those games. As for Valley Vista, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-16.

Coming up, Shadow Ridge will square off against Maryvale at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Valley Vista will be paying especially close attention to the Stallions' game: after the Stallions face off against the Panthers, they'll take on Valley Vista again at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
