The Timpanogos Timberwolves will venture away from home to face off against the Skyridge Falcons at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Timpanogos knows how to get runs on the board -- the squad has finished with ten runs or more in their past six matchups -- so hopefully Skyridge likes a good challenge.
Timpanogos saw some tournament action on Saturday. They blew past Legacy 12-1. The Timberwolves might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six contests by ten runs or more this season.
Shaylie Lang was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out seven over four innings pitched. That's the fewest hits she has allowed since back in April of 2024. She was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.
In other batting news, Madison Young was a standout: she went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. Kelci Gingras also deserves some recognition as she launched her first home run of the season.
Timpanogos was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .571. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .400 or higher in six consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Skyridge didn't have quite enough to beat Pahrump Valley on Saturday and fell 10-9.
Awtumn Lorenzo made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. Peyton Hall was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.
Timpanogos' record is now 7-2. As for Skyridge, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-5.
Skyridge's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Timpanogos has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 11.4 hits per game. It's a different story for Skyridge, though, as they've been averaging 10.4 hits. Given Timpanogos' sizable advantage in that area, Skyridge will need to find a way to close that gap.
Timpanogos suffered a grim 11-2 defeat to Skyridge when the teams last played back in April of 2019. Can Timpanogos avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
