Softball Recap: Ashe County Has No Trouble Against Johnson County

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Hibriten, Ashe County was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They never let the Johnson County Longhorns get on the board and left with a 15-0 victory. That 15 run margin sets a new team best for the Huskies this season.

Ashe County got a massive performance out of Addi Williams, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-2. That's the most stolen bases Williams has posted since back in March of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Hannah Osborne, who scored two runs while going 1-for-2.

Ashe County always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .667. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Ashe County now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Johnson County, they dropped their record down to 0-4 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Ashe County will face off against Freedom at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Freedom has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.17 runs per game on average), something Ashe County will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Johnson County, they will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on Cloudland at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Cloudland's pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so Johnson County's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
