The Mount Paran Christian Eagles and the South Atlanta Hornets will face off at 7:00 p.m. on December 15th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. South Atlanta took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Mount Paran Christian, who comes in off a win.
Even though Lakeside scored an imposing 61 points on Saturday, Mount Paran Christian still came out on top. Mount Paran Christian walked away with a 70-61 victory over Lakeside.
Meanwhile, South Atlanta was just a bucket shy of victory on Saturday and fell 50-49 to Drew Charter.
Despite their loss, South Atlanta saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Isaac Benton, who scored 16 points along with seven rebounds, was perhaps the best of all. The contest was Benton's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Saku Hurst, who scored 14 points along with eight rebounds.
Mount Paran Christian has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season. As for South Atlanta, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-3.
Mount Paran Christian ended up a good deal behind South Atlanta when the teams last played back in January, losing 65-49. Can Mount Paran Christian avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
