The Palo Verde Titans were the 67-49 winner over the Pusch Ridge Christian Academy Lions when they last played one another back in January of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Palo Verde took a 58-53 hit to the loss column at the hands of Pusch Ridge Christian Academy. Palo Verde has been going strong on the season, but this is now their second defeat in a row.
Palo Verde's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Adrain Powers, who scored 13 points along with eight rebounds. Daniel Ortiz was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds.
Pusch Ridge Christian Academy's win on Thursday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Mason Hoke, who scored 20 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Issac Hardeman, who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds.
Palo Verde's defeat dropped their record down to 13-5. As for Pusch Ridge Christian Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-8 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Palo Verde will challenge Santa Rita at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Pusch Ridge Christian Academy's road trip will continue as they head out to face Winslow at 4:30 p.m. on January 20th.
