Hope Christian has gone a perfect 6-0 against Highland recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Saturday. The Huskies will head out on the road to face off against the Hornets at 10:00 a.m. Hope Christian will be strutting in after a win while Highland will be coming in after a loss.
Hope Christian will roll into the matchup after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up one run on Tuesday, then bounced right back against West Mesa on Thursday. The Huskies' pitchers stepped up to hand the Mustangs a 16-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Huskies, who have now won seven contests by six runs or more so far this season.
Caleb Pena was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in March.
