Baseball Recap: Taunton Has No Trouble Against Mansfield

Taunton was handed a heart-breaking two-run loss in their last match, but they sure didn't let that happen against Mansfield on Friday. The Tigers were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over the Hornets. The Tigers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six games by six runs or more this season.

Aiden Resendes looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one hit any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, Cam Dorr was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Dylan Keenan, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

Taunton was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Taunton's record is now 11-3. As for Mansfield, they dropped their record down to 7-7 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Taunton will host Milford at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Mansfield, they will be playing at home against Canton at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. The Hornets' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bulldogs have averaged an impressive 6.2 runs per game this season.
