Softball Recap: Biglerville Has No Trouble Against York County Tech

Biglerville had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 17-run drubbing they dealt York County Tech on Wednesday. Biglerville blew past York County Tech 17-0. The Canners haven't had any issues with the Spartans recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Sydney McCleaf made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. That's the fewest hits she has allowed since back in April of 2024. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.

In other batting news, Biglerville let Kierney Weigle and Leah Strawsburg run wild. Weigle fired off three triples, three runs, and one RBI while going 3-for-3, while Strawsburg scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3. What's more, Strawsburg posted two doubles, the most she's had since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Jenna Walter, who scored a run while going 2-for-2.

Biglerville always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .692. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as York County Tech only posted an OBP of .182.

Biglerville's record is now 3-0. As for York County Tech, their defeat was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-3.

Coming up, Biglerville will be playing at home against Annville-Cleona at 4:15 p.m. on Friday. As for York County Tech, they will venture away from home to take on Columbia at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday. York County Tech is facing Columbia at the right time seeing as Columbia is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
