Bristow and Perkins-Tryon are an even 5-5 against one another since November of 2018, but not for long. The Bristow Pirates will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Perkins-Tryon Demons at 6:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Last Tuesday, Bristow strolled past Berryhill with points to spare, taking the game 67-51. Given Bristow's advantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 90th, while Berryhill is ranked 289th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Bristow to victory, but perhaps none more so than Addi Alexander, who scored 24 points along with four steals. Alexander is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last five games she's played. Abby Morgan was another key contributor, scoring 19 points along with six rebounds.
Meanwhile, Perkins-Tryon had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They blew past Cushing, posting a 59-23 victory at home. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest win Perkins-Tryon has managed all season.
Bristow has been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 13 games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season. As for Perkins-Tryon, their win bumped their record up to 7-14.
Bristow strolled past Perkins-Tryon when the teams last played back in January by a score of 65-50. Will Bristow repeat their success, or does Perkins-Tryon have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
