Elgin Academy is 0-10 against the Raiders since January of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. Having just played yesterday, the Elgin Academy Hilltoppers will get right back to it and host the North Shore Country Day Raiders at 6:30 p.m. on February 6th. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Even though Elgin Academy has not done well against the Maroons recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. Elgin Academy enjoyed a cozy 52-38 victory over the Maroons.
Elgin Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Rahul Gowda, who scored 11 points along with six assists and four steals. Gowda has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Chris Tacher, who scored 15 points.
Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, North Shore Country Day beat the Hilltoppers 53-49 on Saturday. The win was just what North Shore Country Day needed coming off of a 59-28 loss in their prior match.
Elgin Academy's win bumped their record up to 12-14. As for North Shore Country Day, their victory bumped their record up to 5-11.
