Softball Recap: Wednesday's Defeat Ends Concord's Winning Streak

Concord dropped their record down to 12-8 on Wednesday, which also ended the team's four-game streak of wins. They came up short against the Mishawaka Cavemen, falling 9-0. Having soared to a lofty 12 runs in the game before, the Minutemen's shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

As for Mishawaka, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season. The result was nothing new for Mishawaka, who have now won 12 games by seven runs or more so far this season.

For Mishawaka's part, the result came thanks to Camila Rameriz's shutout, as she gave up just a hit and racked up 13 Ks. Rameriz has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Desiree Couvee was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Lilly St. Clair was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.

Looking ahead, Concord will square off against Goshen at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The Minutemen are facing the RedHawks at the right time seeing as the RedHawks are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Mishawaka, they will face off against NorthWood at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
