The McLeod Longhorns will head out on the road to challenge the Union Grove Lions at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Union Grove took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on McLeod, who comes in off a win.
On Friday, McLeod didn't have too much breathing room in their game against the Wildcats, but they still walked away with a 51-47 win. Given McLeod's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 524th, while the Wildcats are ranked 1144th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 74-30, which was the final score in Union Grove's tilt against the Wildcats on Tuesday.
The victory makes it two in a row for McLeod and bumps their season record up to 31-3. As for Union Grove, they now have a losing record at 12-13.
Everything came up roses for McLeod against the Lions in their previous matchup back in January as the team secured a 62-33 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for McLeod since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
