Harvey has enjoyed the comforts of home their last four games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will challenge the Westhope/Newburg Sioux at 5:45 p.m. on Thursday. Harvey has insisted on making their lastthree contests complete nail-biters, turning in a record of 1-2 during that stretch of close contests.
Last Friday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Harvey beat Mohall/Lansford/Sherwood 44-40.
Harvey got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Rachel Neumiller out in front who scored 14 points along with two steals. Neumiller continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Braylee Keller, who scored eight points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Meanwhile, Westhope/Newburg's 11-game losing streak came to an end on Monday. They walked away with a 59-52 victory over Drake/Anamoose. The victory was just what Westhope/Newburg needed coming off of a 73-38 defeat in their prior game.
Kimberly Tabarez was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 19 points and 11 rebounds. Tabarez is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ashley Tabarez, who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds.
Harvey's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-9-1. As for Westhope/Newburg, their win ended a seven-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-11.
Thursday's match is shaping up to be a scrappy match: Harvey have been smashing the glass this season, having only averaged 28.7 rebounds per game. It's a different story for Westhope/Newburg, though, as they've been averaging only 28.1 rebounds per game. Given Harvey's sizeable advantage in that area, Westhope/Newburg will need to find a way to close that gap. Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
