Tri-Valley recap September 10, 2013
Carpinteria's Jonathan Esqueda rumbled for the longest rushing play in Tri-Valley this season in his game against South last week. Esqueda scampered for 94 yards on the play and finished with 128 on the day as his team beat the Spartans.
Oak Park moved up to 379 from 471 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Eagles were able to make move up by topping Channel Islands 41-6.
Jake Boyd was the best wideout in the league this week as Nordhoff topped Pacifica. Boyd racked up 5 receptions for 118 yards. Austin Wolcott helped Nordhoff's passing attack out by catching 3 balls for 51 yards.
Chandler Whitbord threw for 197 yards and 4 touchdowns. He went 12-20 with 0 interceptions.
Whitbord put up the best numbers in passing as Oak Park beat the Raiders. Whitbord's favorite target this week was Matt Byer, who caught 4 passes for 99 yards.
Esqueda was the most successful running back in Tri-Valley this week. Peter Ramos also contributed to the rushing game with 125 yards on the ground.
Bishop Diego took down Santa Ynez 49-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Abel Gonzalez ran for 119 yards and caught 2 passes for 39 yards during the win.
