Baseball Game Preview: Breathitt County Bobcats vs. Lee County Bobcats

Breathitt County is a perfect 7-0 against Lee County since March of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. Breathitt County will host Lee County at 6:00 p.m. Breathitt County is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.5 runs per game this season.

Having struggled with five losses in a row, Breathitt County turned things around against Estill County on Wednesday. They came out on top against the Engineers by a score of 6-3.

Sebastian Howard made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances. He was even better at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in May of 2024.

In other batting news, Aiden Combs and Miles Hollon did most of the damage at the plate: Combs went 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI, while Hollon went 2-for-4 with three runs and one stolen base. That's the most hits Combs has posted since back in May of 2024. Tatum Moore was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one run.

Meanwhile, Lee County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 14-4 to Morgan County.

Lee County's loss dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Breathitt County, the win got them back to even at 9-9.

Everything went Breathitt County's way against Lee County in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as Breathitt County made off with an 18-3 victory. Will Breathitt County repeat their success, or does Lee County has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
