The Valley Regional Warriors lost against the Old Saybrook Rams back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Valley Regional received a tough blow as they fell 58-42 to the Rams. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Valley Regional in their matchups with the Rams: they've now lost four in a row.
Valley Regional's loss came despite strong showings from Conor Quinn and Jack Driscoll. Quinn scored 14 points along with four steals, while Driscoll almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 13 rebounds. Quinn is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed three or more in the last five games he's played. Another player making a difference was Thomas Troy, who scored two points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Valley Regional's loss was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 4-9. As for Old Saybrook, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-10.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Valley Regional will take on the Bellringers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Old Saybrook, they will head out on the road to face off against the Noises at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hale Ray is coming into the match on a four-game losing streak.
