The Steinbrenner Warriors had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 64.3 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Wednesday. They walked away with a 60-49 victory over Robinson. That's another feather in the cap for Steinbrenner, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Danae Blacketer was her usual excellent self, scoring 22 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Naomi Parker, who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds and six assists.
Despite the defeat, Robinson saw an underclassman step up: Alivia Lewis scored 19 points along with eight rebounds. That's the first time this season that Lewis scored 15 or more points. Jennie Gutman was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with five rebounds.
Steinbrenner's victory bumped their record up to 13-4. As for Robinson, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-6.
Steinbrenner and Lennard will face off at 7:00 p.m. on January 19th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Lennard will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 450th, while Steinbrenner is ranked 138th). As for Robinson, Robinson and Wharton will face off at 6:30 p.m. on January 19th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Wharton is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 51.3 points per game.
