The Buhl Indians will face off against the Filer Wildcats at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.
While Buhl's victory against Snake River wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Indians narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Panthers 7-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Indians have posted since March 13th.
Blayden Lowry made a big impact no matter where he played. He pitched three innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. What's more, he posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March of 2025. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with one stolen base and one RBI. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kannon Gambrel, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. He has become a key player for Buhl: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 2-4 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Zayne Meck, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Filer, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They won by a run and slipped past Teton 6-5. The win continues a trend for the Wildcats in their matchups with the Redskins: they've now won four in a row.
Wyatt Blass was excellent, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI and one double. Another player making a difference was Aydyn Burns, who went 2-for-3 with one triple and one run.
Filer always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .630. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Teton only posted an OBP of .440.
Buhl now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Filer, their victory bumped their record up to 10-1-1.
Wednesday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Buhl hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .403. However, it's not like Filer struggles in that department as they've averaged .349. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Buhl got the 'W' in their previous meeting back in April of 2025 against Filer by a conclusive 8-0 score. Will the Indians repeat their success, or do the Wildcats have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
