Gentry took a ten-run defeat the last time they faced off against Elkins, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. Gentry won by a run and slipped past Elkins 6-5. The win was nothing new for the Pioneers as they're now sitting on five straight.

Gentry's victory bumped their record up to 8-1. As for Elkins, their loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 6-3.

Gentry has already played their next contest (against Carlisle), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Elkins, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Paris at 4:30 p.m. on the 31st.
