Monticello is 5-0 against Dolores since December of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Monticello Buckaroo will square off against the Dolores Bears at 6:00 p.m. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with six consecutive losses for Monticello and four for Dolores.

Monticello is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against Valley on Saturday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Monticello was beaten by Valley 52-21. The Buckaroo were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 29-1.

Meanwhile, Dolores was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Friday as they fell 27-23 to Telluride.

Monticello's defeat dropped their record down to 3-16. As for Dolores, their loss dropped their record down to 5-12.

Monticello didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Dolores in their previous matchup back in January, but they still walked away with a 54-48 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Monticello since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
