Massachusetts field hockey team with 103 straight victories headlines list of longest high school sports win streaks

The Harrisburg (S.D.) girls volleyball team saw its 87-match win streak come to an end at the Durango Fall Classic in Las Vegas over the weekend when it fell to Torrey Pines (San Diego, Calif.).

Harrisburg owned the second-longest active win streak in the nation among team sports, trailing only Watertown (Mass.), which has won 103 straight games in field hockey. 

MaxPreps has compiled a list of every team in the nation with an active win streak of 28 or more games. The list is for team sports only and does not include those that compete in dual meets, like wrestling, tennis, swimming, cross country and track and field. Harrisburg had a chance to become just the 13th school to win over 100 straight games in volleyball. Sweet Home (Amherst, N.Y.) broke the record with 292 straight wins between 1978-87.

Harrisburg still makes the list below for consecutive wins, but in girls soccer where the Tigers have won 44 games in a row. The streak is the second-longest active win streak in girls soccer behind Hope Christian (Albuquerque, N.M.).


Bishop O'Connell (Arlington, Va.) is now No. 2 on the list with 75 straight wins in softball. The Knights went 20-0 last year to win their fourth straight VISAA championship with their third straight undefeated season.

Since the Knights don't play until spring, they could drop to No. 3 by November if the Marion Local (Maria Stein, Ohio) football team continues its win streak. The Flyers have not lost since the 2021 season and have racked up three straight 16-0 seasons with a 5-0 start to the 2025 season. Marion Local is currently tied for 10th all-time on the list of football consecutive wins.
