Basketball Recap: Aundray Fowler Key Part of a Team Effort in Rams Win

Amsterdam won the last time they faced Gloversville and things went their way on Saturday too. The Amsterdam Rams enjoyed a cozy 59-43 win over the Gloversville Huskies/Dragons. Given the Rams' advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 74th, while the Huskies/Dragons are ranked 365th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Amsterdam's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Aundray Fowler, who went 6 for 9 en route to 20 points and eight rebounds. That's the most boards Fowler has posted since back in January of 2024. Another player making a difference was CJ Miller, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 13 rebounds.

Amsterdam smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in four consecutive contests.

Amsterdam has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season. As for Gloversville, they have also traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-8 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Amsterdam will face off against Broadalbin-Perth at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Amsterdam is facing Broadalbin-Perth at the right time seeing as Broadalbin-Perth is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Gloversville, they will square off against Glens Falls at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Glens Falls' favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last eight contests.
