They came out on top against The King's Academy by a score of 23-13. The win was nothing new for Calvary Christian as they're now sitting on three straight.
Calvary Christian had a senior duo take command as De'andre Heard rushed for 168 yards and a touchdown while picking up 8.0 yards per carry and Luke Zevac rushed for 73 yards and a touchdown.
Despite the loss, The King's Academy saw an underclassman step up: Jaxon Bone rushed for 163 yards and a touchdown. Bone hasn't dropped below 100 rushing yards for three straight games.
Calvary Christian's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-4. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 1-9 Creekside Christian Academy and 2-7 Rock Springs Christian Academy (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 31.9% over those games). As for The King's Academy, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-4.
Calvary Christian will look to defend their home field on Friday against Skipstone Academy at 7:30 p.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Georgia (Skipstone Academy is ranked 399th, while Calvary Christian is ranked 424th). The King's Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
