The Monte Vista Pirates had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 42.3 points), and they went ahead and made it five on Friday. They took their match on the road with ease, bagging a 58-6 win over Center. With Monte Vista ahead 50-0 at the half, the game was all but over already.
Kaden Madrid threw for 66 yards and a touchdown while completing 100% of his passes. Azariah Hurtado was his top target, picking up 43 receiving yards and a touchdown. On the ground, Jacob Pacheco rushed for 57 yards and a touchdown on only seven carries.
Monte Vista's victory bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Center, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-8.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Monte Vista will face off against Centauri at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Centauri is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. As for Center, they will head out on the road to face off against Trinidad at 7:00 p.m. on October 28th. Trinidad comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 12 points in their last seven games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
