Blake Hoffer put up the most strikeouts he's had since back in May of 2024 on Tuesday. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out nine over five innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Glenbrook South is 2-1 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 4-6 otherwise.

Hoffer's strong effort led Glenbrook South over Maine South and he'll get a chance to do so again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 4:45 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams are at an even 5-5 against one another since June of 2021, but likely not for long.
