The Legacy Longhorns waltzed into their game on Wednesday with three straight wins but they left with four. They claimed a resounding 68-37 victory over Del Sol on the road. Given Legacy's advantage in MaxPreps' Nevada basketball rankings (they are ranked 16th, while Del Sol is ranked 80th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Legacy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Rahjon Chambers led the charge by scoring 13 points. Another player making a difference was Nasir Cazares, who scored 14 points.
Despite the loss, Del Sol still got an impressive performance from Kasire Johnson, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds and five steals. Jaeden Alexander was another key contributor, scoring five points along with nine rebounds.
Legacy has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 19-7 record this season. As for Del Sol, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-11.
Legacy will head out on the road to take on Eldorado at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Del Sol, Del Sol and Chaparral will face off at 6:30 p.m. on January 29th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
