Maple Heights has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will square off against the Warrensville Heights Tigers at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Monday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Maple Heights beat Cleveland Central Catholic 48-42.
Maple Heights found their leader in underclassman Brooklyn Dillard, who scored 25 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Dillard has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Treasure Cistrunk, who scored 12 points.
Meanwhile, Warrensville Heights waltzed into their game on Tuesday with four straight wins but they left with five. They enjoyed a cozy 67-51 win over Loudonville. Warrensville Heights' win was all the more impressive since Loudonville was averaging only 29 points allowed on the season.
Warrensville Heights got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Chelsea Johnson out in front who scored 19 points along with nine rebounds and three steals. Leilani Mcneill was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with five rebounds and four steals.
Maple Heights' victory bumped their record up to 7-4. As for Warrensville Heights, they pushed their record up to 15-2 with that win, which was their 17th straight at home.
Maple Heights was dealt a bruising 61-17 defeat at the hands of Warrensville Heights in their previous meeting back in December of 2023. The matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point Maple Heights was down 41-4.
