Section 5 Monroe Division I recap Oct. 9, 2012
Rush-Henrietta extended the longest winning streak in Section 5 Monroe Division I this week by beating Webster Thomas, 42-6. The victory was the sixth in a row for the team.
Hilton was able to crack the Top 25 in the state rankings this week after beating Gates Chili. The Cadets came in at 15 in the state poll after placing at number 27 last week.
Rush-Henrietta's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Royal Comets feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Chauncey Scissum has thrown for 554 yards and four touchdowns this season, while Chase Weichman has 17 catches for 232 yards. Scissum also leads the league in rushing with 450 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Rush-Henrietta takes on Fairport. The Royal Comets are currently in first, while the Red Raiders are in fifth.
The Titans moved up to 177 from 203 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Section 5 Monroe Division I. Webster Thomas was able to make the jump by beating Webster Thomas 42-6.
