The Rochelle Hubs will square off against the South Beloit Sobos at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Rochelle has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the matchup with nine straight defeats, while South Beloit will come in with seven straight victories.
Morris hit Rochelle with a five-run second inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Hubs lost 13-3 to the Redskins.

Phelisity Lopez was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played.
Meanwhile, South Beloit made easy work of Alden-Hebron on Thursday and carried off an 18-1 win. The result was nothing new for the Sobos, who have now won six games by ten runs or more so far this season.
Whitney Schnack was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out ten over four innings pitched. Schnack was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in May of 2024.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Taniyah Crawford, who went 2-for-3 with five RBI, three runs, and one stolen base. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Abigail Rozsa, who earned three runs and two stolen bases.
South Beloit was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .478. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .304 or higher in seven consecutive contests.
South Beloit's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-4. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.0 runs over those games. As for Rochelle, their loss dropped their record down to 3-12.
Tuesday's match will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Rochelle hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .313. However, it's not like South Beloit struggles in that department as they've averaged .362. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Rochelle's way against South Beloit when the teams last played back in May of 2023, as Rochelle made off with a 6-0 victory. Do the Hubs have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Sobos turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
