The Walton Raiders and the Milton Eagles squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but sadly the Walton Raiders had to settle for second. They took a 31-21 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Eagles. Walton's loss signaled the end of their 14-game winning streak.
Despite the loss, Walton still got an impressive performance from Makari Bodiford, who rushed for 132 yards and a touchdown while picking up 7.8 yards per carry. Bodiford hasn't dropped below 100 rushing yards for four straight games.
Milton's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Luke Nickel, who rushed for 11 yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 205 yards and a touchdown while completing 76% of his passes.
Walton's defeat ended a ten-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 14-1. As for Milton, they pushed their record up to 13-2 with that victory, which was their fifth straight on the road.
Walton does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Milton also has no future games currently scheduled.
