The Goshen Eagles will be playing at home against the Zion Chapel Rebels at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Goshen had to endure a seven-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Luverne 45-42. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory Goshen has posted yet this season.
Meanwhile, Zion Chapel scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. Everything went their way against Pike Liberal Arts as Zion Chapel made off with a 82-61 victory. The win was nothing new for Zion Chapel as they're now sitting on three straight.
Slade Grantham was his usual excellent self, scoring 40 points along with seven rebounds and five assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Hayden Speckert was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 12 points and 14 rebounds.
Goshen's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-13. As for Zion Chapel, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 13 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 17-6 record this season.
Goshen came up short against Zion Chapel in their previous meeting two weeks ago, falling 59-48. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Grantham, who scored 23 points along with four steals. Now that Goshen knows the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
