Cresskill waltzed into their contest on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came within six points of losing the streak, but they secured a 27-21 W against the Manchester Regional Falcons.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Cresskill to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jake Lewin, who threw for 253 yards and three touchdowns while completing 84.6% of his passes. The Cougars' leading receiver Joey Connelly was Lewin's top target yet again, picking up 124 receiving yards and a pair of scores.
Cresskill didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Nicholas Giella and Connelly. Connelly got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Cresskill's win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Manchester Regional, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-3.
Coming up, Cresskill is taking a road trip to challenge Rutherford at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Bulldogs' defense has only allowed seven points per game this season, so the Cougars' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Manchester Regional, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Glen Rock at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
