2A-2 Region IV District 14 recap September 24, 2013
Johnson City moved up to 823 from 923 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in 2A-2 Region IV District 14. The Eagles climbed the ranks as a result of defeating Center Point 40-12.
Adding to the longest winning streak in the league this week, Rogers beat Mart 37-36,. This was the team's fourth consecutive win.
Schulenburg's Ross Bludau and Jeffrey Lara have formed a dream team this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Bludau has thrown for 785 yards this season, while Lara, a 6-foot-1 receiver, has 19 catches for 404 yards. Nic Dillon from Lexington leads the league in rushing with 309 yards.
A big matchup in 2A-2 Region IV District 14 this week will be when Johnson City takes on the Shorthorns. At the moment, Brent Harris' team is in second, while Schulenburg is in fourth.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when the Eagles take on Tommy Bludau's team. Johnson City has allowed 45 points this season, while the Shorthorns have given up 62.
The Eagles fell to Navasota 65-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
