The Fairfax Lions will venture away from home to face off against the West Potomac Wolverines at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.
Fairfax took a 13-run loss the last time they faced off against Robinson, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. Fairfax sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-6 win over Robinson on Friday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Lions as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Avery Adler spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and five unearned) runs on six hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Amy Hartle, who went 1-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024. Katelyn Huang also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask West Potomac). They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 18-16 win over Alexandria City on Friday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Wolverines.
Dani Mechling looked comfortable as she pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit.
At the plate, West Potomac let Jillian Lafayette and Shea Studdiford run wild. Lafayette scored three runs while going 3-for-4, while Studdiford went 1-for-2 with one home run and four RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Stella Weeks, who scored three runs while going 3-for-6.
West Potomac was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .422. They are 2-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Fairfax's record is now 2-3. As for West Potomac, their record is now 2-4.
Fairfax came up short against West Potomac in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, falling 7-3. Can Fairfax avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
