Dartmouth has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will take on the Apponequet Regional Lakers at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
Last Monday, Dartmouth ended up a good deal behind Somerset Berkley Regional and lost 71-54. Dartmouth has not had much luck with Somerset Berkley Regional recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Meanwhile, Apponequet Regional came tearing into Tuesday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 13.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They were the clear victor by a 66-42 margin over Seekonk. Given Apponequet Regional's advantage in MaxPreps' Massachusetts basketball rankings (they are ranked 77th, while Seekonk is ranked 215th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Dartmouth's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-4. As for Apponequet Regional, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season.
Dartmouth beat Apponequet Regional 73-61 in their previous meeting back in December of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for Dartmouth since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
