The Eastern Comets's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their sixth straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 53-25 loss at the hands of Peru. Eastern has struggled against the Tigers recently, as their game on Thursday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the loss, Eastern still got an impressive performance from Jenna Odle, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Peru was led to victory by Madalyn Gatliff and Jacey Boswell. Gatliff scored ten points along with seven rebounds and three steals, while Boswell almost dropped a double-double on 19 points and nine rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Boswell has scored all season. Addison Robbins was another key contributor, scoring six points along with six assists and three steals.
Eastern has traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-17 record this season. As for Peru, their victory ended a 15-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-19.
Eastern will take on the Titans at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Taylor is no doubt hoping to put an end to a nine-game streak of away losses. As for Peru, they will square off against the Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Northwestern has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
