Volleyball Recap: Addy Lay and Riley Docherty Secure Win for Field

Field won the last time they faced Woodridge and Caleigh Docherty did her part to make sure it happened again. The Falcons blew past the Bulldogs 3-0 on Thursday thanks in part to Docherty, who had 16 digs and nine aces. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 2.3 aces per game.

Field walked away with the victory (and looked especially good in the second set). Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-15, 25-17.

Field was led to victory by Riley Docherty and Addy Lay. Docherty had six digs and three aces, while Lay had 24 assists. That's the most aces Docherty has posted since back in August.

They weren't the only good servers: Field was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 16 aces. That's the most aces they've managed all season.

Woodridge's loss came despite strong showings from Lydia Thomas and Allyson Lorenz. Thomas had nine digs and one assist, while Lorenz had six digs and one assist. Cheyanne Mansell also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Field has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season. As for Woodridge, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-9.

Field has already played their next contest, a 3-1 win against Crestwood on the 22nd. As for Woodridge, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 3-0 defeat against Tallmadge on the 20th.
