The Clarkson/Leigh Patriots were the 37-34 winner over the Pierce Bluejays when they last played one another back in February of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Clarkson/Leigh fell to Pierce 31-25. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Clarkson/Leigh has scored all season.
Despite the loss, Clarkson/Leigh still got an impressive performance from Chloe Hanel, who scored 13 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. Hanel hasn't dropped below three steals for 16 straight games. Gracelyn Eisenmann was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Clarkson/Leigh's loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-6. As for Pierce, their victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-8.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Clarkson/Leigh will stay at home for another game and welcome Stanton at 6:00 p.m. on February 8th. Hopefully Stanton focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Tuesday. As for Pierce, they will be playing at home against Guardian Angels Central Catholic on Thursday. Guardian Angels Central Catholic will roll in looking for their 12th straight victory, something Pierce surely won't give up without a fight.
