Cumberland is 0-10 against Spooner since April of 2023 but things could change on Tuesday. The Beavers will head out on the road to face off against the Rails at 5:00 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Cumberland comes in on four and Spooner on eight.
Cumberland's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over Ladysmith. Considering the Beavers have won eight matchups by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Raegan Beecroft was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times she's played. Presli Butzler was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double.
Cumberland was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .381. They are a perfect 7-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Spooner got the win against Unity on Friday by a conclusive 11-1. The Rails are also no stranger to big wins: their blowout was the sixth game they've won by 6+ runs this season.
Annalie Lindgren was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits (and not a single walk). Lindgren was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs, two triples, and one stolen base.
In other batting news, Layla Thompson was a standout: she got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three stolen bases and three runs. Ava Thompson also deserves some recognition as she hit her first doubles of the season.
Cumberland's record is now 9-7. As for Spooner, their record now sits at 8-0.
Tuesday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Cumberland hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .347. However, it's not like Spooner struggles in that department as they've averaged .500. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Cumberland might still be hurting after the 13-6 loss they got from Spooner in their previous meeting back in April. Can the Beavers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
