Softball Recap: Pelham Comes Up Short

Pelham dropped their record down to 5-10 on Wednesday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins. They lost 13-2 to the Oyster River Bobcats. Having soared to a lofty 12 runs in the game before, the Pythons couldn't push the score so high this time.

Pelham saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Caileigh Aguiar, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two RBI, and one double.

As for Oyster River, they have been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-3-1 record this season. The result was nothing new for Oyster River, who have now won nine games by nine runs or more so far this season.

On Oyster River's side, Sammy Bishop spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on three hits and racked up ten Ks. Bishop has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Kate Michaud was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, four runs, and three RBI. Meagan Rinko was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Pelham will face off against rival Campbell at 4:00 p.m. on the 29th. Meanwhile, Oyster River is set to take on their familiar foe Stark at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
