Breathitt County is 0-5 against Prestonsburg since April of 2018 but things could change on Saturday. The Bobcats will square off against the Blackcats at 11:30 a.m. Breathitt County is coming into the game hot, having won their last four games.
It was a proper cat-fight when Breathitt County faced off against Morgan County on Friday. The Bobcats walked away with an 8-3 win over the Cougars.
Sebastian Howard made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed six innings while giving up three earned runs off six hits. What's more, he posted two strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one RBI.
In other pitching news, Danny Kayatin looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

Back at the plate, Aiden Combs and Miles Hollon did most of the damage at the plate: Combs went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, one triple, and one run, while Hollon went 3-for-5 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Those three stolen bases gave Combs a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Wyatt Spencer, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Breathitt County was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .412. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Morgan County only posted a batting average of .160.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Prestonsburg, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Cooper 8-7.
The team relied heavily on Aaron Jarrell, who went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.
Breathitt County pushed their record up to 15-10 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.5 runs over those games. As for Prestonsburg, their record now sits at 9-18.
