Avie Helton was huge no matter where she played even without the win. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing eight innings while giving up three earned (and five unearned) runs off 11 hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-5 with one double and one RBI.
In other batting news, Maria Medrano made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-4. Braylen Clontz was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-5.
