The Owensboro Catholic Aces will take on the Meade County Green Waves at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
On Sunday, Owensboro Catholic needed a bit of extra time to put away Owensboro. They had just enough and edged out the Red Devils 13-12. The win was some much needed relief for the Aces as it spelled an end to their seven-game losing streak.
Railey Scott tossed a big game, pitching six innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off ten hits.

At the plate, Carley Brey was a standout: she got on base in three of her five plate appearances with one home run and three RBI. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Harper Latham, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.
Meanwhile, Meade County owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Monday. They blew past Breckinridge County 9-0. Considering the Green Waves have won nine matches by more than seven runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Not much got past Veronica Roberts, who gave up just three hits and racked up 13 Ks to keep Breckinridge County off the board. Roberts has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Kennedy Ledford was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Annsley Adkisson was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run and two RBI.
Meade County was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Breckinridge County only posted a batting average of .125.
Meade County has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.4 runs on average over those games. As for Owensboro Catholic, their win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 6-11.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Tuesday. Owensboro Catholic hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.5 home runs per game. However, it's not like Meade County struggles in that department as they've been averaging 0.8 home runs.
