Basketball Recap: North Pontotoc Has No Trouble Against Bruce

North Pontotoc's matchup on Thursday was close up to the half, which is when they kicked things up a notch. They put the hurt on the Bruce Trojans with a sharp 72-48 victory. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Vikings have posted since November 15th.

Despite the defeat, Bruce had strong showings from Markeevis Gladney, who went 8 of 13 on his way to 19 points, and Ankavious Glass, who posted seven points in addition to ten rebounds and four steals. Those four steals gave Glass a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jermaine Jackson, who had four points.

North Pontotoc's victory bumped their record up to 5-11. As for Bruce, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-11.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. North Pontotoc and Hatley will face off at 3:30 p.m. on Friday without much rest having both just played. North Pontotoc is facing Hatley at the right time seeing as Hatley is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Bruce, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Nettleton at 8:03 a.m. on December 30th.
