Brophy College Prep (Phoenix, Ariz.) took the final lead of the game on Saturday as it scored a touchdown with 8:00 left, bringing the team to victory over
Red Mountain (Mesa, Ariz.) 14-13.
The teams went into the locker room at halftime deadlocked at zero. The Broncos took the lead for good on a touchdown in the fourth quarter.
Clarence Clark played well for Brophy College Prep in the victory. The senior wide receiver caught one touchdown. He has now scored 12 touchdowns on the season.
Mason Thorman made a difference for the Mountain Lions. The senior quarterback threw one touchdown and ran for one touchdown. He has now scored five touchdowns on the season.
Coming into the game BCP had allowed 20.3 points per game this year. The defense really stepped up, holding Red Mountain well below its season average of 33.3 points scored per game.
A 31-13 Brophy College Prep victory was the result when the squads faced off last season.
The defeat comes as a step back for Red Mountain, which notched a 45-6 victory over Buena in its previous outing.
