Union Academy put another one in the bag on Monday to keep their perfect season alive. They put the hurt on the Lee Park Prep Knights with a sharp 17-7 victory. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Cardinals also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2024.

Union Academy got a massive performance out of Taylor Surratt, who went 2-for-4 with four runs, one triple, and two RBI. The dominant performance gave Surratt a new career-high in runs. Another player making a difference was Keilana Burgess, who scored two runs while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances.

Union Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .585. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lee Park Prep only posted an OBP of .333.

Union Academy's win was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-0. As for Lee Park Prep, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-2.

Coming up, Union Academy will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against North Stanly at 6:00 p.m. Union Academy will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each match than the last. As for Lee Park Prep, they will head out on the road to take on Metrolina Christian Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Lee Park Prep has given up an average of 7.6 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.
